From the fabulous Goddess Leonie

… who is a young woman but old soul … soaked with sunny juicy goodness … from Australia.

I just love her. Find her on-line home here.

Today she said this little pearl:

The Most Important Things To Remember:

* Do your own research.
* Trust your intuition and your gut.
* See what works for you.
* If it doesn’t work for you, try something new.
* It’s like everything in life, really. Go where your spirit calls you!

Full Pink Moon Dreamboard

I had some girlfriends over to my new studio for a play-date Friday night. It was the night of the Full Pink Moon, so we made Full Moon Dreamboards.

I was introduced to this practice about 2 years ago by  Jamie Ridler, creative coach and creator of the Creative Living podcast (check it out here).

Since then, doing Full Moon Dreamboards has brought the sweetest of things into my life, including my new studio and my dog, Ria. Using collage and guided imagery, Full Moon Dreamboards are a way to focus in on what you want in your life over the next moon cycle.

The one I made Friday night (above) told me what I already know that I need: comfort, slowness, connection to my inner life and my outer loved ones. I don’t know what the ancient winged chick statue means yet, but that’s one of the cool things about making dreamboards. You don’t have to know why an image resonates with you — you get to just go with it.

What are you wanting in your life over the next moon cycle?

Joyful Girl

I love joyful moments.

Springs seems to intensifies them for me, with all the life bursting open and popping out of the ground.

Here’s some of the other things that are bringing joy:

1. Brilliantz! nail polish (thanks to Abbey at Design Scouting).

2. Niece blowing out her birthday cake.

3. The amazing work of my new friend, artist Hollie Heller.

I Love This

I love this little ceramic vignette called wander by Vanessa Villereal,

It’s where my mind is lately, with all the changes happening at my office.

One of my best coping strategies for stress is to sit quietly and let my mind wander back to one of the yummy places I’ve visited.

To begin, I ask my shoulders to relax and sink into my back. I close my eyes. I notice how my feet feel against the floor. I let my body relax into the chair’s support. I take full even breaths into my belly.

Next, I wander back to whatever yummy place I choose. I fill in all of the sensory details — what I saw, what I heard, what I smelled.

I wander for a few minutes and end up refreshed.

Meanwhile, you can buy this sweet piece from artstream here.

Soul Lodge

Pixie Campbell is giving 4 spots in her next Soul Lodge. Woohoo! The universe has dropped Pixie into my lap a few times this past year, so I’m thinking of doing it. I so love to be part of a juicy community.

And I love give-aways.

But, you know, I’m not fond of the phrase “give-away.” To me, it feels like it’s unwanted or cast off. I’m super-sensitive to language.

So I am going to use “give-you” instead.

There, that feels better.

Here’s the link for Pixie’s give-you.

See you in the Lodge?

Girl & Dog … hiking in NJ

So, turns out there’s an amazingly beautiful place to hike minutes from my house, called Six Mile Run.

I went last Thursday with Ria, my sweet rescue mutt from this place Tennessee (that’s a plug … go check out their site … they do flippin’ good work). We didn’t see another soul for hours, and I actually startled myself when I spoke to Ria the first time.

I got my daily dose of green, with a rusty old Saab mixed in (you see that tree growing out the trunk?). We went off trail to head back after a few hours and ran across this little dead fox. After a tiny wave of sadness and horror, I felt amazed to see this beautiful creature up close.

Is there a place by your house that you suddenly discovered that you never knew existed?

Art Journaling Night at Women’s Art Circle

I am really psyched about the next Women’s Art Circle, coming up on Wednesday, February 1st. We are going to explore Art Journaling, one of my most favorite art-making things to do!

I’ve got brand-spanking new blank journals all ready to hand out, along with stamps, glitter, gel pens, markers, paper ephemera, magazines, etc. And up there’s a page from one of my own art journals.

It’s 7-9 pm in Downtown Somerville, NJ. All materials are included for $20. Messiness is encouraged! Register at Art Circle Project.

Meanwhile, check out these for Art Journaling inspiration:
